The Chief Minister's Comprehensive Health Insurance Scheme is launched to provide health insurance to the Poor people/Poor Families of the Tamilnadu State. The CMCHIS Chief Minister's Comprehensive Health Insurance Scheme provide qualify medical care for identified specialty services requiring hospitalization for surgeries and medical procedures.
2)The Main aspect of this scheme is to provide cash less Medical and Surgical Treatment to the Poor Families (whose monthly income is below Rs72,000 per annum) in Govt and Empanelled Private Hospitals.
3)This CMCHIS (Insurance Scheme) is launched by the Tamil Nadu State Government through the United India Insurance Company to provide free cash less medical and surgical treatment. The Scheme provides coverage for meeting all expenses relating to hospitalization of beneficiary as defined in the Scope of the Scheme. The scheme provides a coverage up to Rs.1,00,000/- per family per year.
Eligibility Person means a head of the family whose annual income is less than Rs72,000 as certified by the village administrative officer and such other person who may be declared to be eligible for coverage under the Chief Minister's Comprehensive Health Insurance Scheme by the TN Govt.
The Person is entitled to a provisional coverage up to Rs1,00,000 per family per year and with provision to pay up to Rs1,50,000 for certain specified procedures.
Scope of the Scheme
A total of 1016 procedures inclusive of 23 Diagnostic Procedures and 113 follow up packages are covered in this scheme.
A 24 hour Call Centre has been set up at CMCHISTN Project Office with sufficient manpower with toll free help line. The Toll Free Number is 1800 425 3993. The Toll Free Line is competent to answer the query in Tamil.
